Sometimes you don't need an agency. You need an answer.
Audits, strategy and plans for businesses that have people who can execute — or owners who would rather do it themselves and just need to know what to do.
Consulting or done-for-you?
Worth being honest with yourself here, because picking wrong wastes real money in either direction.
Right if you have a marketing person, a developer, or genuine time and willingness to do the work yourself. You get the audit, the priorities and the plan. You execute.
Cheaper, faster to start, and you keep the knowledge in house. Works best for owners who are technical enough to be dangerous and just need the map.
Right if nobody on your side is going to open that document. No shame in it — you are running a business, not a marketing department.
More expensive, but the work actually happens. A plan nobody executes is worth exactly nothing, and we would rather you spent the money on the version that works.
If you are not sure, say so on the call and we will help you figure out which one fits. We have talked people out of retainers they did not need, and we have told people a consultation would just sit in their inbox.
You get findings, not a discovery call.
- Where you actually rank. For the searches that matter to revenue, not the ones that look good.
- Who is beating you and why. Specific pages, specific reasons, not "they have more authority."
- Technical issues, prioritized. The ones costing you money, ordered. Not a hundred-line spreadsheet.
- The content gap. What people search that you have no page for.
- An internal link plan. Usually the cheapest available win, and the most commonly skipped.
- AI visibility check. Whether you appear when people ask an AI engine for a recommendation in your category.
- A sequence. What to do first, second and third, with reasoning, so it survives contact with a busy week.
- Honest scope. Including telling you that SEO is the wrong spend this quarter, if it is.
Want to start before you talk to anyone? Run the free 20-point audit or the visibility scorecard on our homepage. Both are free, neither requires an email, and you keep the results.
Already paying an agency and not sure it is working?
This is the most frequent consultation we do, and it is free.
Send us your last two monthly reports and your website address. We will tell you plainly what has changed on your site, what has not, and whether the numbers in those reports mean anything at all. Impressions climbing is not the same as revenue climbing, and a lot of reporting is built to blur that.
If your current agency is doing good work, we will tell you that too, and you will have paid nothing for the peace of mind. We are not interested in winning a client by trashing someone competent — there is enough genuinely bad work out there that we do not need to invent any.
Not sure how to evaluate an SEO company generally? We wrote a buyer's guide with the ten questions to ask and what good and bad answers sound like.
Questions we get.
What is the difference between hiring a consultant and hiring an agency?
An agency does the work for you. A consultant tells you what the work should be and often helps your own people do it. If you have a marketing person, a developer, or simply the time and willingness to execute, consulting is usually cheaper and faster. If you have nobody, you need the work done rather than explained.
Can you just tell me what to do and I will do it myself?
Yes, and for some businesses that is genuinely the right arrangement. We will audit, prioritize and write the plan, then you execute it with your own team. We are available for questions along the way. Plenty of owners find that a focused plan plus their own effort beats a retainer they cannot afford.
Do you work with in-house marketing teams?
Regularly. A good in-house marketer often knows the business far better than any agency will, and just needs the specialist layer. That arrangement usually works better than replacing them with an agency that has to learn everything from scratch.
How does a one-time consultation work?
We review your site, your competitors and your current search position before the call, so the conversation starts with findings instead of questions. You get the written plan afterward. What you do with it is up to you, and there is no obligation to hire us for execution.
Is consulting cheaper than ongoing SEO management?
Usually, because you supply the labor. It is not automatically better value, though. If nobody on your side actually executes the plan, a consultation is money spent on a document. Be honest with yourself about whether the work will get done before you choose this route.
Can you audit the agency I already use?
Yes, and we do it free. Send your last two monthly reports and your site. We will tell you what has actually changed, what has not, and whether the numbers in those reports mean anything. If they are doing good work we will say so.
What do you need figured out?
Tell us the situation. We will tell you whether you need a plan, a partner, or neither.
- 01We look before we talk. Your site, your competitors, your current position.
- 02You get the written plan. Yours to keep, execute or ignore.
- 03No obligation after. Plenty of people take the plan and run it themselves. That is a fine outcome.
